Revenge in the Dark Jungle: “I have to remind you Sully, this is my weak arm!”

April 4, 2011

You raise your bolo just in time and the creature slams into it.  You brace yourself against its momentum and push the blade through until your fist is buried inside it’s hot chest cavity.  It’s final heartbeat thumps your knuckles.

But then the second Cynocephalus Volans lands on you from behind, wrapping its wings around you.  With your one free arm, you try to push it off.

(Successful Strength Saving Roll)

You push it away before its fangs latch onto your neck.  On the ground, this beast is awkward and helpless.  You kick and stomp on it until its cries have silenced.  You rest and have a bite to eat before continuing on this shortcut through the Black Basket.

The next morning, having successfully traversed this shortcut, you scout the area for sign of the Bat war party’s trail.

(Successful Luck Saving Roll)

You are able to pick up their trail again.  It appears that you’ve gained 2 days on them and are now only 5 days behind.

Take a shortcut up Radiation Cliff.
…or…
Take a shortcut through the Swamp of Illusions.

All are welcome to participate in this adventure.  Just indicate in the comments which course of action you’d like to see followed.  Optionally, you can provide a semi-relevant movie quote and a bonus will be granted to the character’s rolls.  Check out the previous posts about Revenge in the Dark Jungle.

I went upstairs to ask my mom which path to take. My mother told me to pick the very best one and the cliffs are NOT it. Mossy goes to the Swamp of Illusions.
